  3. The Access Road from Chewko Road to the Park Campgrounds is classed as part of the Park Grounds.

  4. Only appropriately licensed drivers are permitted to operate motor vehicles within the park grounds and private property.

  5. All vehicle owners must ensure that their private vehicle insurance covers them, or any other person driving their vehicle, for the driving activities they undertake within Park Grounds.

  7. When involved in Vehicle Recovery Operations the drivers of the vehicle to be recovered and/or the recovery vehicle are responsible for any damage incurred to vehicle or equipment during the recovery.

  8. If participants observe any conditions which are considered to be unacceptably hazardous, or dangerous, they must inform the Park Staff immediately.

  2. All Main Drivers of Vehicles must Sign In on arrival and inform Park Staff upon final departure.

General Conduct and Safety

  1. Queensland Road Rules are applicable at all times whilst driving withing the Park and Private Property.

  3. Children must always be supervised while within Park grounds.

  4. No firearms, weaponry, or archery equipment are allowed within the Park Grounds.

  5. Closed in shoes and long pants are recommended whilst driving on the Park tracks.

  6. All visitors must supply their own personal drinking water whilst within the Park Grounds. All ground fed water within the Park is not for human consumption.

  7. If you are unsure, or concerned, about anything within the Park, then please ask Park Staff for assistance. They are there to make your stay as enjoyable, safe, and memorable as possible.

  8. If you are new to 4WD’ing then let us know. We are here to help and would be happy to take you on a tour of the Park and show you the Tracks and different areas within the Park.

Speed Limits and Safe Distancing

  1. Speed Limit within the Campgrounds is 10klm/hr. This is a family friendly Park, and as such, all care should be taken to watch out for children playing within the Campgrounds.

  2. All drivers should always leave a sufficient gap between their vehicle and pedestrians. A minimum of 3m is recommended.

  3. On 4WD Tracks, the speed limit is dictated by the prevailing conditions. Drivers should drive to their own abilities and leave sufficient gap between vehicles to account for any unforeseen circumstances that may be anticipated. This includes accounting for wet and/or slippery conditions.

Camping

  1. Glass is allowed within the Park Grounds; however, it must be kept within your own camp area, and not be moved between campsites/communal areas.

  2. ALL litter and waste is to be removed, and disposed of, by guests at the completion of their stay. It is greatly appreciated if guests pick up litter they find within the Park.

  3. Dogs are allowed within the Park but must be declared at time of check-in. All dogs are the responsibility of the owner and must be kept under control at all times.

  4. Toilet and shower facilities are available. Guests are reminded that the water is not for human consumption.

  5. Rowdy behavior will not be tolerated. Our Park is a Family Friendly Park. Any behavior, or language, considered inappropriate or offensive by Staff Members may result in guests being asked to leave the Park. Incidents will be dealt with on a case by case basis, and at the discretion of Park Staff.

  6. If you intend on drinking alcohol, you must do so responsibly. Staff reserve the right to ask you to sit out of any organised activity, if they know, or suspect, that the driver is under the influence of alcohol. This is for the safety of you, your passengers, and other guests at the Park.

  7. If a Night Drive is organised, it is recommended that the designated Driver for that event restrict the consumption of alcohol during the day to ensure the safety of their passengers for the duration of the event.

  8. Only prescribed drugs are permitted within the Park Grounds. If illicit substances are found, or suspected, then you and your passengers will be asked to leave immediately.

  9. Smoking/E-Cigarettes are permitted within the Park but are discouraged at group gatherings. Please respect others within the Park and avoid smoking around groups and especially children. All cigarette butts must be completely extinguished and properly disposed of. Bush fires within the Park are a real threat, and all guests should be cognisant of heat sources.

  10. You share the Park with native Flora and Fauna, some of which can be dangerous. If walking throughout the park, be vigilant of dangerous animals, especially when walking through long grass. All guests should be familiar with the proper procedure for attending to venomous bites. There will be a First Aid trained person on site at all times. Emergencies should be communicated through the Park UHF Channel 21 or by calling the mobile number displayed at sign in.

  11. Generators are permitted for use, however, guests who require a generator are asked to camp on the outskirts of the campgrounds. Please restrict the duration of generator use so as not to affect other campers, and only use your generator during daylight hours.

  12. Loud music should be kept to a minimum in the evening and early morning and all guests should be mindful of other campers.

  13. Firewood can be collected from around the Park, with the exception of the pre-cut firewood located at the communal fire pit, or brought in from outside the Park,. Personal chainsaws are not permitted to be used within the Park for legal and safety reasons.

  14. All fires are to be contained within the designated fire pits. This is to ensure that the amount of individual fires within the park is kept to a manageable level. Individual fire pits, with extinguishers, are available for hire at the undercover sign in area for 10 dollars a night. Park Staff will light the Communal Fire Pit at dusk and all guests are encouraged to join us for a few tall tales around the fire.

  15. When leaving the Park at the end of your stay, ensure that your fire is sufficiently extinguished. The fire extinguisher is for Emergency Use only, and not for dousing your fire at the end of the night, or your stay with us. The lighting of fires is subject to any Local Fire Restrictions at the time.

Vehicles and 4WD’ing

  1. All vehicles operated within the Park must be operated in a safe manner and must be mechanically sound.

  2. All vehicles participating on a tag along tour must be fully registered and road worthy and have the appropriate insurance for the activity.

  3. Vehicles are only allowed to carry the maximum number of passengers they were legally designed to carry. All passengers must remain inside the vehicle whist the vehicle is in motion. It is the responsibility of the Main Driver to ensure the safety of his/her passengers at all whilst within the Park Grounds or on a Tag Along Tour.

  4. We recommend all vehicles have access to a UHF, and have it set to the Park Channel 21. Normal UHF protocols apply, keep the language ‘clean, clear and concise’. There is mobile phone reception within the Park and the Staff can also be contacted on the number displayed at the sign in area in case of Emergencies.

  5. All vehicles should travel in groups of two or more for safety and recovery reasons.

  6. All vehicles should carry sufficient recovery gear to enable self-rescue. All vehicles should also carry appropriate general safety equipment. Equipment should include, but not be limited to:

  • Suitable front and rear recovery points sufficiently rated to allow recovery of the vehicle.

  • Appropriately rated recovery straps which are in good condition and free from damage.

  • A minimum of two sufficiently rated shackles, recommend minimum rating of 3.2T.

  • A tree trunk protector strap.

  • Recovery strap weighted safety blanket.

  • Tyre deflator.

  • A long-handled shovel.

  • A serviceable fire extinguisher, within easy reach of the driver or passengers, and.

  • Serviceable first aid kit.

   7. Drivers/passengers should be confident, competent, and familiar with the use of their own recovery equipment. This includes proper                     winching techniques if one is fitted to your vehicle. If you do require recovery or are unsure at any time, please call Park Staff for assistance.

   8. At NO time is winching or recovery from a towball allowed.

   9. Recovery spectators must be kept well back and a minimum of 2 winch strap lengths, and to the side of the line pull. At no time should                 anyone walk over the recovery strap/winch rope when connected at both ends.

Emergency Procedures

  1. Any Emergency within the Park must be communicated as soon as possible. This is typically done by using the words “Emergency, Emergency, Emergency, Emergency on Track number (state track number)” over UHF Channel 21. If you hear these words, clear the channel to allow the person to communicate feely. Allow time between transmissions to allow Park Staff to respond to confirm your location and the nature of the Emergency. Phone reception is available at the Park, but the UHF is the quickest way to communicate around the Park.

  2. In the event of a Bushfire, the venue will be completely vacated. ALL guests and vehicles must leave the Park as soon as possible and muster at the entry point to the Park to allow Park Stuff to mark you and your passengers off. This is to ensure all guests are accounted for when leaving the Park. Make way for emergency vehicles that may be entering the property.

  3. Incase of any other Emergency, Park Staff will ask all guests to return to the Camping Grounds and muster at the designated muster point which is located at the Undercover Sign In area. Guests are to muster and wait for Staff instructions.

  4. The area along the access road as you come through the last gate is designated as the Emergency Helicopter Landing area and camping is not permitted in this area.
